Long-Term Student Visa for more than 6 months

Long-term visas allow students to study for more than 6 months.

In addition to completing the visa application, students must apply for a student residency card at an immigration office within one month of arrival.

For this type of visa, the application involves more documentation than short-term visas. Applicants must provide a medical certificate and a criminal record certificate.
 

Applying for a Student Visa for Spain

Documents required to apply for a Student Visa

• 2 completed Schengen Visa application forms.
   
• Passport (valid until the end of the stay)
   
• Identification card (can be driver's license or national identity card, if applicable)
   
• Current student ID card
   
• 2 recent passport photos (one for each application form)
   
• Letter of acceptance from course provider
   
• Health insurance
   
• Proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay (bank statements)

Renewal
 

The authorization of studies can be extended annually when the requirements of the first authorization are still fulfilled.
